3. General Information on Data Processing

3.1 Scope of Processing of Personal Data

We process personal data of our users only to the extent necessary to provide a functional website and our content and services. The processing of personal data of our users takes place regularly only with the consent of the user. An exception applies in cases where prior obtaining of consent is not possible for factual reasons and the processing of the data is permitted by legal regulations.

3.2 Legal Basis for Processing Personal Data

Insofar as we obtain the consent of the data subject for processing operations of personal data, Article 6(1)(a) of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) serves as the legal basis.

When processing personal data that is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is a party, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR serves as the legal basis. This also applies to processing operations that are necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures.

Insofar as the processing of personal data is necessary to fulfill a legal obligation to which our company is subject, Article 6(1)(c) GDPR serves as the legal basis.

In the event that vital interests of the data subject or another natural person require the processing of personal data, Article 6(1)(d) GDPR serves as the legal basis.

If the processing is necessary to safeguard a legitimate interest of our company or a third party and if the interests, fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject do not outweigh the first-mentioned interest, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR serves as the legal basis for the processing.

3.3 Data Erasure and Storage Period

The personal data of the data subject will be deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose of storage ceases to apply. Storage may also take place if this has been provided for by the European or national legislator in Union regulations, laws or other provisions to which the controller is subject. The data will also be blocked or deleted if a storage period prescribed by the aforementioned standards expires, unless there is a need for further storage of the data for the conclusion or performance of a contract.

This cookie contains a characteristic string that allows the browser to be uniquely identified when the website is accessed again.

We use cookies to make our website more user-friendly. Some elements of our website require that the calling browser can be identified even after a page change.

The following data is stored and transmitted in the cookies:

  • Language settings
  • Log-in information
  • Search terms entered
  • Information about the number of visits and the use of individual functions of the website

When accessing our website, users are informed about the use of cookies for analysis purposes and their consent to the processing of personal data used in this context is obtained. A reference to this privacy policy is also made in this context.

5.2 Legal Basis for the Use of Cookies

The legal basis for the processing of personal data using cookies is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR if the user has given consent.

The legal basis for the processing of personal data using technically necessary cookies is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

5.3 Purpose of Data Processing

The purpose of using technically necessary cookies is to simplify the use of websites for users. Some functions of our website cannot be offered without the use of cookies. For these, it is necessary that the browser is recognized even after a page change.

  • Storage of login information

The user data collected by technically necessary cookies are not used to create user profiles.

The analysis cookies are used to improve the quality of our website and its content. Through the analysis cookies, we learn how the website is used and can thus continuously optimize our offer.

5.4 Duration of Storage, Possibility of Objection and Removal

Cookies are stored on the user's device and transmitted from there to our site. Therefore, you as a user have full control over the use of cookies. By changing the settings in your internet browser, you can disable or restrict the transmission of cookies. Already stored cookies can be deleted at any time. This can also be done automatically. If cookies are disabled for our website, it may no longer be possible to use all functions of the website to their full extent.

6. Contact

When you contact us (e.g., via contact form, email, phone, or social media), we process your details to handle the contact request and its processing pursuant to Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Your data may be stored in a customer relationship management system ("CRM system") or similar request organization.

We delete the requests once they are no longer required. We review the necessity every two years; furthermore, the legal archiving obligations apply.

7. Application Process

We process applicant data only for the purpose of and within the scope of the application procedure in accordance with the legal requirements. The processing of applicant data is carried out to fulfill our (pre-)contractual obligations within the scope of the application procedure pursuant to Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR if the data processing becomes necessary for us, e.g., within the scope of legal procedures (in Germany, § 26 BDSG also applies).

The application procedure requires applicants to provide us with applicant data. The necessary applicant data is derived from the job descriptions and generally includes personal details, postal and contact addresses, and the documents belonging to the application, such as cover letter, resume, and certificates. In addition, applicants can voluntarily provide us with additional information.

By submitting their application to us, applicants consent to the processing of their data for the purposes of the application procedure in accordance with the type and scope set out in this privacy policy.

If special categories of personal data within the meaning of Art. 9(1) GDPR are voluntarily communicated within the scope of the application procedure, their processing is additionally carried out in accordance with Art. 9(2)(b) GDPR (e.g., health data, such as severely disabled status or ethnic origin).

If special categories of personal data within the meaning of Art. 9(1) GDPR are requested from applicants as part of the application procedure, their processing is additionally carried out in accordance with Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR (e.g., health data if this is necessary for the exercise of the profession).

If provided, applicants can submit their applications to us using an online form on our website. The data is transmitted to us in encrypted form according to the state of the art.

Applicants can also send us their applications by email. Please note, however, that emails are generally not sent in encrypted form and applicants must ensure encryption themselves. We can therefore not assume any responsibility for the transmission path of the application between the sender and receipt on our server and therefore recommend rather using an online form or sending by post.

The data provided by applicants may be further processed by us in the event of a successful application for employment purposes. Otherwise, if the application for a job offer is not successful, the applicants' data will be deleted. Applicants' data will also be deleted if an application is withdrawn, which applicants are entitled to do at any time.

The deletion takes place, subject to a justified revocation by the applicants, after the expiry of a period of six months so that we can answer any follow-up questions about the application and meet our obligations to provide evidence under the Equal Treatment Act. Invoices for any reimbursement of travel expenses are archived in accordance with tax law requirements.

8. Web Analysis and Statistics

8.1 Google Analytics

This website uses functions of the web analysis service Google Analytics. The provider is Google Ireland Limited ("Google"), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

Google Analytics enables the website operator to analyze the behavior of website visitors. The website operator receives various usage data, such as page views, length of stay, operating systems used and origin of the user. This data is summarized in a user ID and assigned to the respective end device of the website visitor.

Furthermore, we can use Google Analytics to record your mouse and scroll movements and clicks, among other things. Furthermore, Google Analytics uses various modeling approaches to supplement the collected data sets and uses machine learning technologies in data analysis.

Google Analytics uses technologies that enable the recognition of the user for the purpose of analyzing user behavior (e.g., cookies or device fingerprinting). The information collected by Google about the use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

The use of this service is based on your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TTDSG. The consent can be revoked at any time.

The data transfer to the USA is based on the standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission. Details can be found here: https://privacy.google.com/businesses/controllerterms/mccs/.

IP Anonymization

We have activated the IP anonymization function on this website. This means that your IP address will be shortened by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area before being transmitted to the USA. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide the website operator with other services relating to website and internet use. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.

Browser Plugin

You can prevent the collection and processing of your data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en.

For more information on how Google Analytics handles user data, please see Google's privacy policy: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=en.

Order Processing

We have concluded an order processing contract with Google and fully implement the strict requirements of the German data protection authorities when using Google Analytics.

8.2 Google Tag Manager

We use the Google Tag Manager. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

Google Tag Manager is a tool that allows us to integrate tracking or statistical tools and other technologies on our website. The Google Tag Manager itself does not create user profiles, does not store cookies and does not perform any independent analyses. It only serves to manage and play out the tools integrated via it. However, the Google Tag Manager collects your IP address, which may also be transmitted to Google's parent company in the United States.

The use of Google Tag Manager is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in a quick and uncomplicated integration and management of various tools on his website. If a corresponding consent has been requested, the processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TTDSG, insofar as the consent includes the storage of cookies or access to information in the user's terminal device (e.g., device fingerprinting) within the meaning of the TTDSG. The consent can be revoked at any time.

9. Online Marketing

9.1 Google Ads

The website operator uses Google Ads. Google Ads is an online advertising program of Google Ireland Limited ("Google"), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

Google Ads enables us to display advertisements in the Google search engine or on third-party websites when the user enters certain search terms on Google (keyword targeting). Furthermore, targeted advertisements can be played on the basis of the user data available at Google (e.g., location data and interests) (audience targeting). As the website operator, we can quantitatively evaluate this data by analyzing, for example, which search terms led to the playback of our advertisements and how many advertisements led to corresponding clicks.

The use of Google Ads is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in marketing its service products as effectively as possible.

The data transfer to the USA is based on the standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission. Details can be found here: https://policies.google.com/privacy/frameworks and https://privacy.google.com/businesses/controllerterms/mccs/.

9.2 Facebook Pixel

This website uses the visitor action pixel from Facebook for conversion measurement. The provider of this service is Facebook Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Ireland. However, according to Facebook, the data collected is also transferred to the USA and other third countries.

This allows the behavior of site visitors to be tracked after they have been redirected to the provider's website by clicking on a Facebook ad. This allows the effectiveness of the Facebook ads to be evaluated for statistical and market research purposes and future advertising measures to be optimized.

The data collected is anonymous for us as the operator of this website, we cannot draw any conclusions about the identity of the users. However, the data is stored and processed by Facebook so that a connection to the respective user profile is possible and Facebook can use the data for its own advertising purposes in accordance with the Facebook Data Usage Policy. This allows Facebook to enable the placement of advertisements on Facebook pages as well as outside of Facebook. This use of the data cannot be influenced by us as the site operator.

The use of Facebook Pixel is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in effective advertising measures including social media. If a corresponding consent has been requested (e.g., consent to the storage of cookies), the processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; the consent can be revoked at any time.

Data transmission to the USA is based on the standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission. Details can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/legal/EU_data_transfer_addendum and https://de-de.facebook.com/help/566994660333381.

In the Facebook privacy policy, you will find more information about protecting your privacy: https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/.

You can also disable the "Custom Audiences" remarketing feature in the Ad Settings section at https://www.facebook.com/ads/preferences/?entry_product=ad_settings_screen. To do this, you must be logged into Facebook.

If you do not have a Facebook account, you can disable usage-based advertising from Facebook on the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance website: http://www.youronlinechoices.com/de/praferenzmanagement/.

10. Presence on Social Media Platforms

We maintain publicly accessible profiles on social networks. The social networks we use in detail can be found below.

Social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, etc. can generally comprehensively analyze your user behavior when you visit their website or a website with integrated social media content (e.g., Like buttons or advertising banners). By visiting our social media presences, numerous data protection-relevant processing operations are triggered. In detail:

If you are logged into your social media account and visit our social media presence, the operator of the social media portal can assign this visit to your user account. However, your personal data may also be collected under certain circumstances if you are not logged in or do not have an account with the respective social media portal. In this case, this data collection takes place, for example, via cookies that are stored on your end device or by recording your IP address.

With the help of the data collected in this way, the operators of the social media portals can create user profiles in which your preferences and interests are stored. In this way, interest-based advertising can be displayed to you inside and outside the respective social media presence. If you have an account with the respective social network, the interest-based advertising can be displayed on all devices on which you are or were logged in.

Please also note that we cannot track all processing operations on the social media portals. Depending on the provider, further processing operations may therefore be carried out by the operators of the social media portals. For details, please refer to the terms of use and privacy policies of the respective social media portals.

10.1 Legal Basis

Our social media presences are intended to ensure the most comprehensive presence possible on the Internet. This is a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The analysis processes initiated by the social networks may be based on different legal bases, which must be specified by the operators of the social networks (e.g., consent within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

10.2 Responsibility and Assertion of Rights

If you visit one of our social media sites (e.g., Facebook), we are jointly responsible with the operator of the social media platform for the data processing operations triggered during this visit. In principle, you can assert your rights (information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability and complaint) both against us and against the operator of the respective social media portal (e.g., against Facebook).

Please note that despite the joint responsibility with the social media portal operators, we do not have full influence on the data processing procedures of the social media portals. Our options are largely determined by the corporate policy of the respective provider.

10.3 Storage Period

The data collected directly by us via the social media presence will be deleted from our systems as soon as the purpose for storing it no longer applies, you request us to delete it, revoke your consent to storage or the purpose for data storage no longer applies. Stored cookies remain on your end device until you delete them. Mandatory legal provisions - especially retention periods - remain unaffected.

We have no influence on the storage period of your data, which is stored by the operators of the social networks for their own purposes. For details, please contact the operators of the social networks directly (e.g., in their privacy policy, see below).
